In 2023, a group of followers of Orwoll decided to buy the plot of 160 acres in rural arkansas. They chose the position because Orwoll lives nearby, the property was relatively economic and the building’s rules were indulgent. County is over 90 % white, which was also a decisive factor, says Orwoll, who also claims to be a classically trained musician that previously played With Shen Yun, a group of arts of the Chinese show managed by Falun Gong, a religious movement.
The return to the ground is established as an association of private members and those who try to join must go through a series of steps to verify their identity and inheritance.
“Tales a questionnaire that will give us an initial idea of where you come from, your values, who you are, your background and then there is a telephone interview and we make a case -by -right admission decisions,” says Orwoll a wired.
The application form for the return to the ground asks for potential members to outline their ancestors and also to answer a series of questions about their social and cultural points of view, including if they support foreign immigration, “transgenderism”, Covid-19 vaccines and segregation. He also asks: “How often do you think of the Roman Empire?” With answers ranging from “every day, at least once” to “sometimes a week, probably” and “never”. This initial process makes you approve only to access the private group chats on Telegram. For those who decide they want to move to Arkansas and become part of the community, “verify for that level of involvement is much more detailed”, says Orwoll, although he refused to say what that process has led beyond the conduct of a “control of the previous ones”.
Peter CSERE, the group’s secretary, tells Wired that the association currently has 300 members across the country. Orwoll claims to have had interest not only from the Americans, but also by people from other continents.
Despite being the face of development, Orwoll himself does not live in the return to the earth’s community at this moment. “I did not develop my farm enough to allow my four children to live full -time safety, so I have a house 15 minutes away, but I’m working to move to the community,” he says. In recent weeks, while Orwoll’s past has been strictly examined, the researchers found videos in which Orwoll performed on online porn videos with his then wife Caitlyn, who is now residing on the return to the terrestrial complex. Orwoll condemned the dependence on porn, claiming that young people “emasculars”.
“In my early 1920s I did many things that are now totally against,” says Orwoll, who confirmed on X that appeared in the videos. “I considered myself a nihilistic, I did psychedelic and I did not respect the traditional sexual morality. The lack of guide I had and the way he threw away my first adult life informed the importance I followed on traditional values.”
To date, the community has collected about $ 330,000 from land sales, according to a financial analysis conducted by the ADL center on extremism. It is also leading five separate Crowdfunding campaigns on Givendgo, a crowdfunding platform focused on Christians. These campaigns have collected over $ 185,000 in donations. The last campaign, which has a $ 100,000 goal, was launched last month and is designed to finance gatherings across the country to promote the return to the land model. The campaign has already collected over $ 88,000; One of the best donations was for $ 5,000, to which the donor added the white supremist “14 words” slogan. Orwoll says that all this funding has allowed him to leave his job and work full time by traveling to the United States by talking about the project.
