WIPRO Technologies and Warburg Pincus Eye $ 500 million acquisition of the business of digital solutions of Harman’s India, ethbrandequity

The global private equity company Warburg Pincus and Wipro Technologies are in advanced negotiations to acquire the activity of digital transformation solutions (DTS) of the audio with the USA and the Harman related technologies in India, said people aware of the discussions. The agreement should appreciate the company to about $ 500 million (£ 4,375 crores), they said to et on condition of anonymity. Deutsche Bank is recommending to Harman, an entirely controlled affiliate of the South Korean conglomerate Samsung Electronics, on the proposed transaction.

A Warburg spokesman Pincus refused to comment, while the questions sent via email to Harman and Wipro Technologies did not arouse an answer until the moment of the press.

Harman – known for the JBL audio brands, Harman Kardon and Infinity – Projects and engineers have connected products and solutions for car manufacturers and consumers all over the world. The offers include connected cars systems, audiovisual products and corporate automation solutions. The company began operations in India in 2008 and currently takes more than 9,000 people in eight cities. He worked with Wipro Technologies based in Bengaluru through a strategic engineering collaboration from the year in which he entered the country, including the development center of Harman India at the Wipro structures in Bengaluru and Chennai.

Samsung Electronics acquired Harman International Industries in 2017 for about $ 8 billion. It supports life sciences and medtech companies in accelerating clinical studies, modernizing platforms and guaranteeing regulatory compliance and helps industrial and consumption companies with factory insights in real time, connected ecosystems and corporate systems.

Wipro Technologies has been in a madness of acquisition in recent years. In 2024, he assumed Agne Global, an insurance technology company based in the United States, to strengthen its presence in the insurance sector. He also purchased the IT consultancy company based in the United States, applied with value technologies to improve its development and support services of company applications. In addition, last year he purchased a 27% participation in Sdverse, a car software market.
