You must have often heard that air conditioner tons are used. Even before purchasing a new AC, AC should be of 1 ton, 1.5 tons, 2 tons and more depending on the size of the room. 1 tonne air conditioner means 12,000 btu/hr. BTU means the British thermal unit. A 1 ton of AC per hour can extract 12,000 BTU heat.
