NEET Fake Scorecard: In order to show good marks in NEET UG 2025, an 18-year-old student got a fake scorecard. For this, he spent Rs 17,000. This was revealed when his government official father confirmed the truth of the result from NEET’s official website. This is the case of Udupi in Karnataka.
The path of forgery from YouTube
The student watched a video on a YouTube channel “Editing Mater” during the preparation for the exam in April 2025, showing ways to digitize digital tampering in the results of major examinations like CBSE, JEE and NEET. According to a report by The Hindu, two mobile numbers were given in the video, which could have been prepared by contacting a fake marksheet.
Contact on WhatsApp, delivery of fake documents
On May 10, the student approached one number through WhatsApp and the person in front described himself as Vishnu Kumar. He transferred an amount of Rs 17,000 to different stages. On June 16, he was sent a fake digital NEET scorecard and OMR sheet, in which he was shown the All India rank 107 and 646 marks.
Happiness in the family, then the curtain of truth opened
When the student’s father saw the scorecard, he was pleased and sent him to a local newspaper, which also published an article on the “success” of the student. But when he confirmed the result from the official website, the real rank turned out to be 17.6 lakhs. After this, the student confessed the truth.

Udupi Cyber, Economic and Narcotic Crime Branch has registered a case under sections 66 (c) and 66 (d) and sections 336 (2), 335, and 336 (3) of the Indian Justice Code. Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar said that the accused is being searched, and it is feared that he would have cheated other students in a similar way.
