Us Embassy Warns Incomplete Social Media Information May Lead to Visa Denial Future Ban Details Inside

The US Embassy in India has recently given great warning that if an Indian will remove Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media details from their visa application, then their current visa may be rejected and can also be denied to take US Visa in future. In addition, it is clearly stated that this rule will also be applicable even if any type of information is removed from social media. Recently, Embassy also said that Visa applicants would have to public for screening their social media profiles. In a post on X, US Embassy in India has stated that it is mandatory to include all social media handles of the last 5 years (Facebook, X, Instagram, Linkedin, Tiktok etc.) in the last 5 years in the DS‑160 form (which is mostly paid for the non -acimenous visa). According to Embassy, ”Every Us Visa Adjudication is a National Security Decision,” ie whether the visa is being granted or not is also a national security issue.

This rule is in force from 2019, but now the American Embassy has started implementing it vigorously. The shocking thing is that it is not enough to give social media username now, the profile will have to be kept in public visibility so that the Cancular officers can see the posts, likes, comments of the applicant. If a profile of the applicant is private, or he has removed it from the visa form, it will be assumed that he is hiding something and the result may be his visa application’s instant rejection or intelligence for future visas.

This is a strict guideline especially for F (Student), M (Vocational Students) and J (Exchange visitors) visas. Embassy has said that it is important for them as it is part of verification and National Security check process.<!–
