If you are going to take UPSC CSE 2025 exam, then take special care of the time. You can be prevented from entry if you are delayed at all.
Paper I (GS): From 9:30 am to 11:30 am.
Paper II (CSAT): From 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Reporting Time: Reach at least 60 minutes before the examination starts (8: 00-8:30 pm and 1: 00-1: 30 pm).
Gate closure time: 30 minutes before every session starts (9:00 am and 2:00 pm). Entry will not be available on arrival late.

What to take to UPSC Examination Center?
E-admit card: Hard copy with clear photos and details. Digital copy is not valid. Take at least two copies.
photo ID: Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID or Driving License (with the number mentioned in the admit card).
Photograph: If the photo of the admit card is not clear, then bring two passport size photos per session with name and date.
Black ballpoint pen: For OMR sheet and attendance. Take an extra pen.
Optional items:
Transparent bottle of water: Without labeled. Water may be available at some centers. So check first.
Analog clock: For time management. There are digital or smartwatch ban.
Transparent writing pad/clipboard: Without writing or mark.
Face Mask: For health protection.
These things are forbidden in UPSC exam center
Electronic Equipment: Mobile phone, smartwatch, calculator, Bluetooth device, earphones or any programmable device.
Jewelry: Do not wear excessive jewelry, ring or big items.
Food ingredient: Ban snacks or food items.
study material: Books, notes or written materials.
Bag: Do not carry big bags or goods.
Other: Whitener, highlighter, colored pen/pencil.

Guidelines for exam center
dress code: No formal dress code, but wear plain, comfortable clothes. Smart casual or formal for men, salwar kameez for women, saris or ordinary western clothes. Do not wear big prints, slogans or heavy pocket clothes. Choose comfortable shoes/slippers.
Inspector instructions: Follow the instructions of the invigilator.
Stay calm: Avoid conversation or inappropriate behavior during UPSC exam.
Security check: Give time for frisking and biometric verification.
What to do inside UPSC Examination Center?
Time Management: GS paper is to solve 100 questions in 2 hours and 80 questions in CSAT. First solve those questions, which you are 100 percent sure.
Negative marking: 1/3 marks are cut on every wrong answer. Therefore, make guess carefully. If any question is not understood, then leave it.
Check Question Paper and OMR sheet: In case of any mistake in UPSC paper or OMR sheet, inform the invigilator immediately.
What to do after UPSC exam?
Do not check the answer key immediately after UPSC Paper 2. First rest for a while, then see the answer key of reliable institutions.
