UPSC Prelims Result released, now what next?
In UPSC Prelims Result 2025, successful candidates should have complete knowledge of further process. This will make it easier to prepare for UPSC Mains 2025.
How to check UPSC Prelims Result?
Candidates who appear in UPSC Prelims Exam 2025 can check their government results by visiting the official website of Union Public Service Commission upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in.
how to see:
1- Go to the ‘What’s New’ or ‘Examinations’ section on the homepage of UPSC website.
3- Download UPSC Result PDF and find your roll number using CTRL+F.
Note: The results only have roll numbers of qualifying candidates. Personal score or cutoff marks will be released with final results (after men’s and interview).
After the release of UPSC result, UPSC will announce a link and deadline (usually 10-15 days) to fill DAF-I.
Go to upsconline.nic.in and use a new portal (launched on 28 May 2025), which has an option for Aadhaar-based verification.
Upload scanned documents (degrees, marksheets, photos, signature and category certificates).
How to prepare UPSC Mains 2025?
The UPSC Mains exam will start from 22 August 2025. It will last for 5 days. Notification will be issued if there is any change in UPSC Mains 2025 date. For the final preparation of UPSC Mains, it is necessary to understand its exam pattern.
Paper A: Indian language (qualifying, 300 marks)
Paper b: English (qualifying, 300 marks)
Essay (essay): 250 digits
General Studies (GS) I from iv: Every 250 digits
Optional Subject: Two papers, each 250 digits
Total: 1750 points (except for qualifying paper)
Tips for preparing UPSC Mains
Answer Writing Practice: Write answers to 2-3 questions daily, especially for essay and GS paper. Practice with the time limit.
Alternative topics: Start intensive study on your chosen optional subject (eg history, sociology or geography).
Time Management: There is about 70 days between prelims and mens. Make a timetable and give equal time to GS, essay and optional subject in it.
Keep these documents ready
Mains Fee: If you are also qualified for the Indian Forest Service (IFS), then submit the Mains Examination Fee and update by 25 June 2025 if you require scribe or accessories.
What to do if you fail in UPSC Prelims?
UPSC is a long journey. Consider failure as an opportunity for analysis. Understand your mistakes and start preparing for the next attack. Pay attention to weak areas (eg CSAT or specific GS topics). Also continue preparing for alternative schemes (CAPF, State PSC or other competitive exams). Check every detail related to UPSC exam only at upsc.gov.in or upsconline.nic.in. To avoid stress, include yoga, meditation and light exercise in lifestyle.
