New Delhi (UPSC Mains 2025)The UPSC Prelims Exam was held on 25 May 2025. Its result was released on 11 June 2025. Successful candidates in UPSC Prelims 2025 Exam will now take the UPSC Mains exam in August. To give UPSC Mains Exam 2025, it is necessary to fill the DAF1 form. DAF has a full form detailed application form. The Union Public Service Commission has activated the link of DAF1 form on its official website upsc.gov.in.
UPSC Civil Service Examination (CSE) The process of DAF form is very important for 2025. The DAF is filled in 2 stages: DAF-1 (for Men’s after prelims) and DAAF-2 (for Mains after interview). The registration of DAF-1 for 2025 has started from 16 June 2025 and will run till 25 June 2025. Both DAF1 and DAF2 forms are very important and they have an important contribution in this process of government jobs. Do not be negligent in filling UPSC DAF form nor give false information.
When and how the DAF form was released?
The Union Public Service Commission has activated the link of DAF-I form on upsc.gov.in/ upsconline.nic.in for successful candidates in UPSC CSE Prelims 2025 Exam. Successful candidates in this examination can fill the DAF 1 form by visiting the website from 16 June to 25 June 2025. In this, you have to enter your personal, educational and other details and upload the necessary documents. Also, service priorities (IAS, IPS, IFS, IRS) have to be selected.
How to fill UPSC DAF 1 form?
Both DAF-1 and DAF-2 are filled online. Can see the process of filling DAF-1 below-
1- Click on the link ‘DAF for Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2025’ on UPSC website upsconline.nic.in.
2- If you have not already done One-Time Registration (OTR), then click on ‘New Registration’ and create an OTR profile. Enter the name, date of birth, email and mobile number to OTR.
3- Login through OTR credentials (roll number and password). Password is sent to your registered email/mobile.
4- DAF-1 has 6 modules: Personal details (name, date of birth, gender, address, contact number), educational qualification (10th, 12th, graduate details (marksheet, degree numbers), employment details (if working details (if working then job title, company name and duration.
5-IAS, IPS, IFS etc. choose services and priority of state cadre (eg UP, Bihar).
6- Give information about the business, income and property of the parents.
7- Fill details related to hobbies, achievements and optional subjects.
Format: Documents in PDF (200 DPI, Unlock), Photo/Signature JPG (20-300 KB). If the name has changed then upload gadget notifications.
Application fee: Rs 200 for General/EWS/OBC male candidates, SC/ST/Women/PWBD candidates discount, payment online (net banking, credit/debit card) or offline (cash in SBI).
Submit: Check all modules. Changes are not possible after clicking on ‘Final Submission’.
Why is DAF form necessary?
DAF Form is an important part of UPSC process-
Eligibility for Mains and Interview: DAF-1 cannot appear in the exam without filling. At the same time, DAF-2 is mandatory for interview. Candidates can be canceled due to wrong information or not submissions on time.
Service and cadre selection: The service provided in DAF (IAS, IPS, IFS) and cadre priorities affect the final selection. These priorities cannot be changed later.
Role in interview: The information given in DAF-2 (hobbies, achievements, education, work experience) form the basis of interview panel questions.
Example: If you write ‘cricket’ in hobbies, then questions related to this can be asked.
Transparency and verification: The information given in the DAF is verified with the documents. Giving incorrect or misleading information can lead to disqualification or legal action.
