The time of UP schools changed
The outbreak of heat in Uttar Pradesh is increasing continuously. Because of this, changing the time of schools is a great decision. The UP Basic Education Council had earlier decided to open the school from June 16, but it has been decided to postpone the classes by June 30, giving priority to the safety of children. During this period, teachers will have to come to school for administrative work like enrollment, record update and preparing for the next session. According to the new time, primary schools will now operate from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Regular classes will be held from July
This change in UP school timing has been made to reduce the effect of heat. Actually, the temperature is the highest in the afternoon. Teachers’ organizations say that the new schedule is convenient for both children and teachers. From July 1, schools will start running completely regularly, when the effect of heat is expected to decrease. Children’s education will not be affected by this change. Teachers can continue studying through online resources and homework.
When will the new session start?
The Uttar Pradesh Junior High School Teachers Association has demanded from the government that the session of schools should be started from July 1 as before. The current session starts from April, which falls in the extreme time of summer. During this time, parents are hesitant to send children to school, which affects enrollment. Teachers’ organizations argue that the health of children can be threatened due to heat and teachers also have trouble staying in school for a long time. Starting the session from July 1 will increase attendance in schools and the atmosphere will also be better.
Class can be applied online
This new system has also brought relief for parents. Due to the heat, many parents avoid sending their children to school as the temperature goes above 40 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. Due to the new time (7:30 to 12:30 in the morning), children can be protected from the afternoon heat. Also, with the option of online studies, there will be continuity in children’s education. The Basic Education Council has instructed schools to start teaching children using online resources like video lecture and worksheet.
Arrangement improved in schools
The Uttar Pradesh government has taken several steps to improve the education system. Basic Education Council is working on improving basic facilities like fans, coolers and drinking water system in schools. Apart from this, teachers are being trained for online teaching to promote digital education. The government aims to not affect children’s education despite heat or other seasonal challenges. In future, there are plans to make the time and session of schools more flexible according to the season.
