TRIBIT STORMBOX MINI+ review: an excellent cheap portable speaker

Likewise, you will have to keep your expectations under control when it comes to bass. Despite his festive led light show, he is not a festive speaker. You will listen to some minimums and if you put the speaker on a large surface like a non -marble kitchen counter, you may hear them. For its size, I have no complaints. In addition, if the Mini+ Stormbox is placed in a corner or against a wall, the border gain effect can offer a significant improvement of the bass.

It is worth experimenting with the new EQ function based on Trbit’s app. The personalized equalizer available for nine channels is excessive for such a small speaker, but I have to deliver it to Trbitit: if you intend to offer an equizrator, you must let people save their favorite mix and this allows you to save 15. I have had more luck with the five integrated presets (music, audiobook, classic, rock and jazz).

The function of speakers works well. Having said that, the gain on the incorporated microphone is a bit low. If I moved over about two feet from the speaker, my voice became much weaker. Other auditors tested Stormbox Mini+ for calls and noticed that the speaker has disconnected. I didn’t have such problems. Also, I had no problems by convening Siri. A long pressure on the multifunction button was followed by two tones, one to confirm the long pressure and a second to let you know that Siri was listening.

Tribit says that you will get 12 hours of play with a single debit (you will need 2.5 hours to upload it to be emptied). If you keep the volume at 50% and turn off the LED ring, you will probably approach that number. In my test, using a variety of volume levels (mainly above 50%), with the ring illuminated continuously, it was closer to 9.5 hours. These are not the best specifications for a portable speaker, but since you can get almost a whole day for a charge, I’m not even a break.

Stormbox Mini+ has no shortage of competitors in the portable Bluetooth speaker market. You can go smaller and less expensive with Soundcore Select 4 Go, you can spend more for a slightly better sound in the EU Wonderboom 4, and the Sky limit for more powerful options, including the excellent JBL Flip 7 ($ 150), Ultimate Ores Megaboom 4 ($ 150) and Marshall Middleton ($ 320). However, I would say that for its single price combination, sound quality and characteristics, you would be difficult to find another waterproof model that controls all boxes.
