Bringing the curtain on the procedure started against misleading ads for medicinal products, the Supreme Court closed the case presented by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) against Patanjali Ayurved and its founders.A bench of judges BV Nagarathna and KV Viswanathan said that no further hearing was needed since the Court had already approved various orders and the purpose of the case had been achieved. “For various orders, the WP prayers have been reached and do not survive for further considerations. Therefore, the written petition is eliminated. Freedom is authorized to get closer to the high court if they have problems,” said the counter in its order. The apical court had obtained last year last year granted to the founders of Patanjali Ayurved Baba Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna, who had faced the perspective of contempt for the court and closed the processes of contempt against them accepting their unconditional apologies.
The SC had started a contempt procedure against them on February 27 last year.The petition of contempt was presented by the IMM which moved the Court for the misleading advertisements that targeted the treatment of allopathy. He said that the company and its promoters were denigrating the Allopathy Medicine branch, which should not be allowed.
