The British retailer Marks & Spencer’s Food Business saw the growth in sales slowed down to 9.1 percent in 12 weeks until June 14th in year, reflecting the interruption that followed a computer attack in April, the data in the sector showed Wednesday.
The nielseniq researcher said that the growth of M&D food sales slowed down from 10.8 percent in the report last month and 14.7 percent in the previous one.
Although the market share of M&S has scored 10 basis of the year at 3.7 percent, it fell from the reading of 3.8 percent in the ratio last month.
As part of its IT attack management, M&S has stopped taking online clothing orders and has also taken offline of other systems. This reduced the availability of food and also involved higher costs of waste and logistics.
Last month, M & S said that the attack would cost him about 300 million pounds ($ 409 million) in the loss of operating profit. The group has started taking online orders for clothing lines on June 10 after a 46 -day suspension after the attack.
Most of the NielSeniq data echoed the results of the report of the rival researcher Kantar Tuesday, with robust performances by the Market Leader Tesco, the number two of Sainsbury’s and the Ocado Supermarket Online.
However, M & S is not completely included in the Kantar market shares set.
