Evie Ring Movano for $ 269: When he came out for the first time, the Evie Ring Movano (4/10, Wired Review) was propagated as the first fitness tracker in the world designed specifically for women. I was very excited! It has been recently updated to integrate with Apple Health (in the iOS version of the app) and now you can see your day of the cycle on your home page, manually record the basal body temperature and manually add workouts. However, these new features are rather underestimated compared to those offered by its competitors. Now that Oura and the ring of the galaxy can keep track of the periods so accurately, her time could have passed. But it is relatively convenient, it does not have a subscription share and has a blood oxygen sensor, so it’s a little beautiful. —Drienne I know

Ringconn Gen 2 for $ 359: Despite an increase in prices compared to Gen 1 below, this is still a relatively convenient intelligent ring and without subscriptions. Ringconn has maintained the distinctive square design, but this second generation ring has led to important improvements to sleep monitoring (including the detection of the night apnea), a better battery life and is slightly thinner and lighter. I found solid sleep solid and health monitoring (sleep is much more accurate than the first generation), but training monitoring is still a serious weakness. Despite multiple types of available exercises, it is necessary to manually activate the monitoring of training and fight with higher heart rate precision.

Ringconn Smart Ring for $ 179: Now strongly obvious, it is worth taking the original Ringconn (6/10, wired review). A slightly square design with blended edges gives a unique aspect, the work of monitoring health and sleep and lasts four or five days between the accusations. It is also provided with a practical battery -powered case (sufficient for several travel charges). However, I had problems with data synchronization, the app was lacking in adequate training monitoring and the data were sometimes inaccurate, even if the app seems constantly improving through updates.

Luna Smart Ring for $ 300: Luna Ring is a new intelligent titanium ring with five days of battery life that claims to offer many new artificial intelligence features, such as menstrual consultancy for health coaching and nutrition, as well as oxygen measurements in the blood and leather temperature for cycle monitoring. However, I would not stay in touch with the app and – I’m sorry for how stupid it is, he does not sit well on the charger, so I continued to find it without load, which was extremely irritating. —Drienne I know

Amazfit Helio Ring for $ 200: Fitness tracker supplier at affordable prices such as Amazfit Active 2, I expected an Amazfit competitive intelligent ring, but the Helium (4/10, Wired Review) is seriously out of shape. I like the thinly structured bronze finish, but it is the only color you get. The dimensions are also limited to 8, 10 or 12 for now (the size of 7 to 13 are coming). Although it has skills similar to the intelligent rings above, the Helium was sometimes irreparably inaccurate, with measures of the cardiac frequency wildly out of the step with other trackers. There is no automatic training tracking, the battery life was on average three days for me and the helium has often disconnected from the committed and confused Zpp app. You don’t do it Need A subscription, but there is Aura Ai ($ 70/year) for insights and content or fitness ($ 30/year), which includes an artificial intelligence coach. They are expensive and confused. (Why have two separate subscriptions?) Helium works much better together with a smartwatch (I tried it with the Amazfit Cheetah Pro), since it can combine the data, but as an autonomous device, it is impossible to recommend.

How do I choose the right size of the intelligent ring?

Some intelligent rings are available in standard size, but there are variations and the half -size are rare, so it is worth taking some time to make sure to get the correct ring size. Most manufacturers will send you a free sizing kit, which allows you to wear a fictitious ring for 24 hours. (It may be necessary to buy the ring directly from the manufacturer to get this kit for free.) You should absolutely do it. Keep in mind that the fingers swell and reduce all day. Your intelligent ring should be convenient to allow sensors to measure carefully, but you will have to remove it regularly to load, so you don’t want too tight fit.

On which finger should I wear my intelligent ring?

You can wear the intelligent ring on any finger, but most manufacturers recommend wearing it on the index finger, even if even the average or ring finger can work. These three fingers have all large blood vessels for a more accurate impulses monitoring. What is really important is that the ring adapts perfectly and safely to the base of the chosen finger, so if you have a large nut and a narrower finger (more common with the medium or ring finger), this can be complicated. I recommend wearing it on the index of your least dominant hand because I found wearing it on the right index finger, as a person for the right hand, led to more damage in the ring and scratches on some things I have touched.

What finish or smart color finish is the best?

All the intelligent rings that we tested the combined titanium combined with an array of sensors inside, but the coverings and colors vary. If you are hard on the rings, a silver or gold finish probably adapts better to you, since there is less risk of damage. My rings of Orra and ultrauman with black finishes have scratches and chips visible after a few months. The rings of Orla and Amazfit have small dimples to help you align the sensors. While I prefer the smooth finish of the ultrauman, the accuracy of the correct positioning is enormously suspected.

How do I take care of my intelligent ring?

Most of the intelligent rings are resistant, but if you want to avoid damage, you should remove the ring when working with tools, weight lifting, washing pots and pans or even clean the sink. If it is likely that your ring rubs against a surface, remove it. I discovered that this was a bigger problem to wear a ring on the index finger than with the medium or ring finger. I scratched the rings of Orra and ultrauman during gardening, moving the boxes and using a handlebar. The titanium is also hard enough to damage the surfaces in the house. I crashed the porcelain of my sink and scored the inside of a cup with the angular Ringconn. All the intelligent rings we have tested are water resistant, so that we can swim or shower without taking them away.

How many times do I need to load my intelligent ring?

The intelligent rings are equipped with a charger and a cable, but you will generally have to provide your wall adapter. From the dead, they have used everywhere and a half to three hours to fully load, but you should avoid making the battery work completely or running the risk of losing health data. We tested the intelligent rings on top with all the bells and whistles on, so the battery life estimates are lower than the manufacturer’s claims.

Which Smart Ring features should I search?

Most intelligent rings will follow sleep, heart rate and temperature. If you want to keep an eye on sleep and obtain insights on health discreetly and comfortably, the intelligent rings are ideal. Fitness monitoring varies, with most intelligent rings that offer basic counts and movement, some offer manual training monitoring and others that offer automatic training recognition. But you can expect more depth and precision from a traditional tracker fitness or smartwatch. The combination of an intelligent ring with an Apple Watch or Fitbit creates a seamless experience, allowing you to remove the clock and let it load at night without gap in monitoring.

Smart rings or smart watches?

In recent years, we have put many questions in the field about why someone would have had an intelligent ring instead of, or in addition to a normal fitness tracker. Here are some reasons why you could consider it:

Best battery life. An intelligent ring is smaller and usually (if not always) it has a better battery life. It is a useful addition to your repertoire if you hate you to lose a couple of hundred or a thousand, pass while loading your smartwatch every day.

Sleep tracking. It is no coincidence that our favorite sleep tracker is a small and discreet ring. Maybe you are tired of having your huge Apple Watch Ultra that strikes you in your face every time you turn you. (Or maybe you’re uploading it instead!)

Cycle monitoring. Many fitness watches and trackers now have a fairly sensitive skin temperature sensor to detect when you are sick or drink alcohol. However, in the Adrienne tests so far, only the ring of Samsung Galaxy and the Ura have been accurate enough to keep track of its menstrual cycle.

Finally, fashion. Watches are a statement and a status symbol; A smartwatch often no longer says anything about your preferences and choices as well as “I don’t like encounters”. Almost all those we know who bought an intelligent ring have done so because they have a cartier tank by hand, or a fun Casio or champion, who do not want to give up. If this is you, good for you! And take a ring!

We continually wear intelligent rings for several years (sometimes two or three at a time), so we have a good management of what makes an intelligent ring that is worth buying. Each intelligent ring we test has been worn for at least a month, usually longer, and we always compare its monitoring data than our best choice (OUR) and with other smartwatch and fitness tracker (Apple Watch).

What are we testing later?
