Who is Shubhanshu Shukla: Who is Shubhanshu Shukla?
Shubhanshu Shukla is a resident of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. His schooling took place from City Montessori School, Aliganj, Lucknow. After 12th, he passed the entrance exam of the National Defense Academy (NDA) and graduated from there. The NDA is a top training academy in India, which prepares officers for Army, Navy and Air Force. Its degree comes from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU).
NDA IAF Shubhanshu Shukla: Fighter Wing included
On 17 June 2006, Shubhanshu was included in the fighter wing of the Indian Air Force (IAF). She is a great fighter pilot and test pilot. He has a flying experience of over 2,000 hours. He has blowing many fighter jets like Sukhoi-30 MKI, MiG-21, MiG-29, Jaguar, Hawk, Dornier and AN-32. In March 2024, he was promoted on the post of Group Captain. He is also a fighter combat leader.
What happened with launching?
Shubhanshu was going to ISS under the Axiom Mission-4 (AX-4). He was part of the crew of four people and was about to play the role of a pilot in this mission. The plan was that his spacecraft will travel 28 hours and reach ISS at 10 pm on June 12. The mission was 14 days, but before the launch, the liquid oxygen was leaked in the spacecraft, due to which it had to be postponed.
Journey from Gaganyaan Mission to ISS
In 2019, ISRO selected Shubhanshu for India’s first Human Space Mission Gaganyaan. Four Astronauts were selected for this mission–Shubhanshu Shukla, Group Captain Prashant Balakrishnan Nair, Group Captain Ajit Krishnan and Group Captain Ajit Krishnan and Group Captain Angad Pratap. What is Axiam Mission-4?
Aciam Mission-4 is a private space mission, the American company Axia Space has planned in collaboration with NASA and Spacex. This is their fourth mission (earlier AX-1, AX-2 and AX-3). It was to be launched between March to June 2025. Launching Florida’s Kennedy Space Center (LC-39A) or Cape can be from Canveral Space Force Station (SLC-40) via Falcon 9 rocket. The mission is 14 days.
Big opportunity for India
This mission was a huge opportunity for India, because for the first time an Indian International Space Station (ISS) was going to go to Rakesh Sharma in 1984 and he was the first Indian. This journey of Shubhanshu was going to add a new chapter to India’s space history, but now we have to wait a little more. Shubhanshu Shukla’s story is full of inspiration. NDA from Lucknow, then fighter pilot in IAF and now an astronaut. Hold that a new launch date will soon come and he will fly for ISS.
