SSC CGL 2025 Exam: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has made a new and important change in the recruitment process to be held under the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination 2025. The Commission is now going to implement a new scheme for the first time to fill the vacant posts, which has been named “Sliding Scheme”.

What is a sliding plan?

Till now, no waiting list was made in the CGL examination according to the policies of SSC. But in recent recruitments, it has been observed that after the document verification of documents, some posts remain vacant. To fill these vacancies, the Commission is now going to include “sliding scheme” in the selection process.

Under this scheme, if a candidate is not selected in the final phase but is around the cutoff, then he can be given a chance to the left vacant posts. The purpose of this is that all the posts issued in the advertisement should be filled.

Approval from the government remains

SSC has sent a proposal to the Central Government to implement this scheme. According to media reports, it will be implemented from CGL 2025 as soon as it is approved.

SSC CGL 2025: Recruitment to 14,582 posts

SSC has announced the recruitment of 14,582 posts for CGL 2025. The online application process has started for this.
Last date of application: 4 July 2025, till 11 pm
Last date for fee payment: 5 July 2025, till 11 pm
Last year i.e. in CGL 2024, recruitment for 17,727 posts was taken out.

Which posts will be recruited?

Through this examination, the posts of Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ will be appointed in various ministries and departments of the Central Government. These are the main posts.
Assistant Section Officer (ASO)
Income tax inspector
Central excise inspector
Sub-Inspector in CBI and NIA
Tax assistant
Divisional accountant
Auditor
Postal Assistant and Sorting Assistant
Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)
Senior Secretarial Assistant
Additional Division Clerk (UDC)
Executive Assistant etc.

This sliding scheme being implemented by SSC can bring relief for those candidates who are deprived of selection with a few marks. This will ensure the recruitment of qualified candidates to the posts that remain vacant and the entire process will be more transparent and effective. If you are preparing for SSC CGL 2025, this may be a golden opportunity for you. Please apply in time.
