The biggest change in the atmosphere of the Earth was in the era called EOcene, 4.4 million years ago from 3.4 crore. At that time, the amount of carbon dioxide is said to be double even from the present time. Scientists are saying that if the level of carbon continues to rise due to greenhouse gases for the coming 150-200 years, then the carbon dioxide of that time will be collected on the earth.
After the climate change that took place 4 million years ago, when the carbon levels gradually started decreasing, glaciers started to be built on the earth. At present, most of the Western Antarctica is pressed into the snow. Therefore, it is difficult to gather information about the rocks buried under it. It is difficult to guess the atmosphere of that time without studying without rocks.
In 2017 too, Johann Klages and his team set out on a similar campaign. After drilling a depth of 100 feet in the sea level, the team found evidence of rocks of two different eras. When the half -life of radioactive elements was measured, the lower remains were found to be 8.5 million years old. These were reported to be related to the mid -critical period.
