New Delhi (Scholarships for Students)Unable to pay the fees of school or college, promising students can continue their studies through various scholarships. The National Scholarship Portal (NSP) has started the online application process for the 2025-26 session. Students of schools and college across the country can take advantage of these scholarship schemes. NSP is a one-stop platform, which helps students in every step, from filling the application form to receiving scholarship amount in their bank account.

You can visit the official website scholarships.gov.in to fill NSP Scholarship 2025 (NSP Scholarship 2025) form and check other details related to it. To take advantage of various scholarship supported by the Central Government, State Government and UGC/AICTE, the application form has to be filled on scholarships.gov.in. But before that, check the eligibility of every scholarship. Also, do not forget to see the application date i.e. schedule.

What is NSP?

The full form of NSP is the National Scholarship Portal. This is the initiative of the National Egavnance Scheme (NEGP). It is called smart (SIMART: simplified, mission‑orized, accountable, responsive, transparent) portal. Through this, students can get the application, verification, tracking and scholarship amount directly in the bank account from the same place. This makes the process of scholarship fast, transparent and clear. There is no chance of rigging in it.

What kind of scholarship is there?

1- Pre Matric: For Class 1-10 students
2- Post Matriculation: Class 11-PG/Diploma/Professional
3- Merit-Cum-Means: Technical/Professional Course
4- Central Sector UG/PG/PhD Students
5- Arrangement Special: SC/ST ‘Top Class’, UGC/AICTE schemes
Each of these has different eligibility.

Check below the list of scholarships found under NSP 2025-

  • Merit based scholarship- for students with outstanding academic records.
  • Means based scholarship- for students of economically weaker sections.
  • Minority scholarship- for students related to minority communities like Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi.
  • Pre-matric scholarship- for students studying in primary and secondary schools (up to class 10).
  • Post Matric Scholarship- For students who issued further education after class 10.
  • Central Sector Scholarship- Graduate (UG), Postgraduate (PG) and doctoral students are given.
  • State Special Scholarship- Different state governments offer.
  • Documents required for scholarship

    These documents are usually required for the application:

    • Aadhaar/base enrollment
    • Income/Residence/Category/Bonfied Certificate
    • Last exam marksheet
    • Bank passbook
    • Passport size photograph
    • Only institutional verification may be necessary in schemes with less than ₹ 50,000.

    How to apply on the National Scholarship Portal?

    You can apply for any scholarship on the National Scholarship Portal through steps written below-

  • Please visit the official website of NSP – scholarships.gov.in.
  • Click on the link ‘Apply for Scholarship’ seen on the homepage.
  • Register using your personal details.
  • A reference number will be sent to your registered mobile number.
  • Download the Aadhaar Face RD and NSP OTR app for facial identification.
  • Complete the face identity to create One Time Registration (OTR) ID.
  • Use OTR ID on opening scholarship application form.
  • After this, fill the application form, upload the required document and submit it.
