

Motorcycle sales in the 350 cc to 450 cc segment continue to show a strong momentum, recording an annual growth of 17.67% in May 2025. Total sales stood at 83,475 units, increasing compared to 70,939 units in May 2024 spread.
Royal Enfield maintains the leadership of the segment
King Classic 350 led the segment again, with 28,628 units sold, an increase of 20.39% of 23,779 May units last year. Bullet 350 showed an even stronger increase, with sales that jump from 85.16% to 17,279 units. Hunter 350 also saw a moderate increase of 5.89%, recording 15,972 units. On the contrary, Meteor 350 witnessed a drop of 6.01%, with sales up to 7,697 units of 8,189.



The Triumph 400 range, which is developed jointly with Bajaj, recorded 3,030 units, recording a growth of 43.13% from 2,117 units in May 2024. Honda CB350 also recorded a strong performance with 2,410 units sold, increasing 83.97%. However, Jawa, Yezdi and BSA (combined retail) recorded a drop of 21.59% with sales up to 1,965 units.
Among other Royal Enfield offers, Himalayan has significantly fallen by 55.07%, selling 1,489 units. Hons 350 of Honda also saw a 34.91% dip with 1,281 units sold. On the positive side, KTM’s 390 series recorded 1,039 units, an increase of 58.63% on an annual basis. Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, it appeared in the sales graph with 1,035 units. Bajaj’s new Pulsar NS400Z has recorded sales of 499 units, a huge jump from only 32 units last year, which translates into a growth of 1459.38%.



KTM 390 and Dominar see the conflicting trends
Harley-Davidson X440, on the other hand, recorded a strong 53% drop with 478 units sold in May 2025, compared to 1,017 units of a year ago. Bajaj Dominar 400 also slightly slipped to 417 units, down 12.58%. Aprilia RS 457 scored 127 units, down 32.45%, while the recent thunder 457 has added 76 units.
Kawasaki offers like Ninja 400, eliminator and KLX 450r managed 38 flat units, unchanged compared to last year. Husqvarna 401 saw a clear fall from 142 units to only 10. Hero Mavrick 440, which had a decent start at the beginning of this year, crashed drastically to only 5 units, from 791 units in May 2024, a huge drop of 99.37%.
While Royal Enfield continues to dominate with an iron socket, the competition is heating up with the most recent competitors and refreshed offers. However, it is clear that the value of the brand, the network of retailers and the support of the community continue to play a crucial role in this medium -capacity high growth segment.
