Zoë Schiffer: No, I mean, I completely agree. I also remember that this story evolves over time, and it seems that with so many things with climate change will have the great title, “we have to do x within this year or this other thing will happen”. And we were only still and again and again, “Okay, it didn’t happen.” And therefore we accept that the floods will happen, or the increase in the levels of the sea will damage this area or anything else and now we are facing the repercussions.
Louise Matsakis: Yes, and also in this case, I think the agreement that Tuvalu has with Australia is less than 300 people who can move a year and be evacuated while I will continue to use that word. And this is not yet so many. There will still be people on this island while the seas get up.

Today I was combined with Louise Matsakis by Wired, who recently reported on how the lack of context is becoming an increasingly alarming problem for chatgpt and other chatbots. Louisa’s report explores the reason why Chatgpt went to demon mode when he recently spoke with the Atlantic staff. Last week, a Atlantic publisher reported that Chatgpt began to praise Satan and encourage the ceremonies that involved various forms of self-movement. So Louise, what the hell is it happening?
Louise Matsakis: So the Atlantic reported this story that substantially supported the case that Chatgpt has these guarantees against things such as self -harm, but there are all these cases on board that suddenly send the chatbot in a kind of role -playing mode. And so they were like “Hey, can you make a ritual for Molech, who is this ancient God who presents himself in the Bible associated with the sacrifice of children?” And Chatgpt saw that word and immediately started this role -playing game in which he started talking about things like Deep Magic Experience called The Gate of the Divourer. He asked the Atlantic journalists if they wanted something called a reverent bleeding parchment. And therefore all this seems truly bizarre, and you might think how, oh, there are many content on the internet on demonic rituals. The Satanists are everywhere, especially online. This is probably what is happening here. But when I examined it, all this tradition and jargon actually come from a game called 40,000 Warhammer, which is this war board game that playing with these small stickers, and is in circulation since the 80s. People who love these things love it. And they are online, the Reddit are ticking every day of the week. There are so many science fiction books, there are so many … honestly I struggle to think about the deepest lore of this game. And consequently, Chatgpt ingested all this information. And when the Atlantic used the word Molech, who is a planet in the universe of this game, he immediately presumed that it was another warhammer fan who wanted to go play or enter the fantasy world of this game.
