Roku Streaming Stick Plus Review: cheap, simple and cute

Roku still has To disappoint me. Where other brands change factors, interfaces and support of the product with what may seem alarming regularity also for insiders like me, Roku, with its rounded square interface, the pleasantly rubbery remote control and the design of the joyfully simple plug-and-plany stick, held the course.

When the new Roku Streaming Stick Plus came to my house, it seemed to me again 2012. That techno-optimism of the Obama-Rirda era when the social media were on the right side of the story? -Sea evident. There are no huge annoying announcements on top of everything in the menus, there is no discomfort to be appreciated or enrolled in some proprietary data boats or other. Instead, you only get a decent processor, a USB cable for power supply and a remote control that now has four quick buttons for the apps to which you could actually register: as Slingtv has ever obtained a dedicated place on a Roku remote control that never knew it.

As for the quality, this 4K streaming device offers everything you may have realistically without buying a disk reader and start a 4K Blu-ray collection. If you have $ 40 to lose and a slow TV, they already buy one.

Once a time has been at which sticks -based players like this, which is the size and shape of an old -school USB thumb, could cause strange assembly problems depending on whether a TV manufacturer had put its HDMI doors or not from somewhere that had a real sense. In these days, the stick is easily connected to every modern TV that I have tested, with a decently long USB cable that connects to the external USB port of the TV (even now essentially always there) for power. It is a “configuration process” to the extent that you are aware of how to connect cable cable cables.

The remote control is what you will interact more, and it is fantastic as usual, a form of pill not slipped with family buttons that look like high quality pencil tires. At this point it is a whole standard Roku rate, until you realize that the apps listed for rapid access at the bottom are actually good now: Disney+, Apple TV, Netflix and Amazon.

Now included in this level of Roku device (previously it was only available on more expensive models) is the remote vocal functionality, which allows you to use the microphone on the remote control to search for your favorite programs and films. It is an incredibly decent tool if you are not sure of where the streaming of something specific, which is useful for me sometimes a year when I have an arm for a specific holiday movie or other.

It is really easy to access any app you register and also easy to reorganize the tiles in the main screen so as not to have to see things you don’t use. The setting, including access to Wi-Fi and the installation of a quick updating of the software, requested about 10 minutes.
