Rishabh Pant Profile: From the streets of Roorkee to Delhi’s pitch
Rishabh Pant was born on 4 October 1997 in a Kumaoni Brahmin family in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. His parents Saroj and Rajendra Pant and elder sister Sakshi always gave wings to his dreams. His ancestral village is in Gangolihat in Pithoragarh, but he was born in Roorkee. The passion of cricket brought him to Delhi at the age of 12. At that time he did not even have a place to live. Rishabh did his initial studies at the Indian Public School in Dehradun. When the family shifted to Delhi, he earned a B.Com degree from Sri Venkateswara College, Delhi University. Rishabh made her debut in the Ranji Trophy at the age of 18 in 2015. In the same year, Ranji’s fastest century scored by making a century in 48 balls against Jharkhand. Fifty made headlines in 18 balls against Nepal in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup. Rishabh also did wonders in Test cricket. In 2018, he scored a 114 -run century in his third Test on the tour of England. In 2019, he helped India win the first Test series in Australia by scoring 159 runs in Sydney. In 2021, India won 89 runs in Gaba and won India in Australia after 32 years. He became the first Indian wicketkeeper to score Test Century in Australia, England, India and South Africa. In 2024, he equaled MS Dhoni’s 6 Test century records by scoring a century against Bangladesh. His clever wicketkeeping and batting played an important role in India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Rishabh Pant Accident: Largest Test, Accident and Comeback of Life
In December 2022, Rishabh had a terrible car accident on the Delhi-Haridwar highway. He collided with his Mercedes divider and overturned and caught fire. His life was safe even after serious injuries to the head, back and legs. The doctors said that it could take two years to recover, but Rishabh returned to the IPL as captain of Delhi Capitals in March 2024 after just 14 months and scored 446 runs. His insistence surprised everyone.
IPL 2025: 27 crore Sultan
In IPL 2025, Lucknow Super Giants bought Rishabh for 27 crores and made the biggest bid in IPL history. In the beginning of the season, he could score only 135 runs in 12 matches and people started making fun of social media, but in the last league match, 118 runs in 54 balls against RCB stopped speaking everyone.
