Review of the biological mattress of silk and snow S&S: soft as cloud

Immediately out of the Bat, I’m letting you know that this bed is neither made of silk nor snow. I would say that it is made with something even better: lalar. The feeling of the latex can be difficult to identify, since I have heard it than everything, from a yoga mat more often or a springboard to a water bed. The fact is that the latex has cushioning, relief from pressure and a bouncing atmosphere. He is also good enough to keep the heat and allergens out, which is a victory for the sleeping and those with allergies. With the S&S organic mattress, I wanted to see if this bed was really the intersection of these aspects of performance, combined with an ecological build. After a week of testing, I have in mind some people who would be the main candidates for this bed.

The construction of the S&S organic mattress is ecological from top to bottom, with certifications to be shown for this. The bed contains Gots (Global Organic Textile Standard), Gols (Global Organic Latex Standard) and Eco-Institute materials. As a professional mattress tester, I can verify that these are some of the best certifications you can get to support the biological statements of your product. The latex used is from Sri Lanka, cotton from India and even coils come from Toronto, Canada, in an attempt to limit the pollution from shipments while maintaining this material on the continent. Eco-Institut certification guarantees that the materials do not contain harmful substances or emit something similar that would be contraintial to its “organic” state.

On the basis of the firmness with which you go, whether it is still, of media or plush, the construction will vary slightly. I went with a mediocre, which presents a pillow for euros. Silk & Snow states on his website that this particular firmness is designed for “Sleers Sleepers all around”, I have said, “let’s see about it”.

The construction of Medium-Firm includes a organic cotton coverage, organic quilted wool, organic quilted latex, a layer of organic latex more often and coils in your pocket. Now that you have the recipe, what does all this mean? Starting from the upper layers, the pillow has a GOTS certified organic cotton coverage, with a layer of wool below which is also certified. Both of these materials are breathable and porous, therefore they are destined to remain at room temperature. Even fire resistant wool, which means that artificial firefighting barriers are not used.

The layers of latex are perforated by the air flow and pressure and are of a particular more solid variety called Dunlop. This refers to how the latex was heard to feel and there is a 0.8 -inch higher layer, a material barrier and therefore a 1.5 -inch layer for the advanced pillow. You have a material barrier to protect the latex and the bowls at the base are clogged for personalized support. They are reinforced right in the middle and around the edges, therefore the extra-irrelevant sensation helps with the lumbar support and prevents you from overturning on the edge while mentes or sitting on the sides. To complete the protection, the bottom is another layer of wool to make the bed fireproof.

The first night to test the S&S staff, I hidden and I was cold, which normally does not happen for me with mattresses. I heard that the surface of the bed gives a slight rejection, but not in a way that counted the relief from pressure around the hips and shoulders. While the week was going on, I started noting some other advantages of the bed. It was very easy to move, giving me some “Oomph” more if I changed the sides. It was not a slingshot, but the construction of the latex and the bed coil makes the surface very reactive. So far, I have agreed with the evaluation on the end of Silk & Snow of this being a mattress with Sleeper Combo and Combo.
