Shubham’s father Sanjay Dwivedi said, “My son, his wife and sister -in -law had gone to a place called ‘Mini Switzerland’, which is at a height. We stayed in a restaurant 7 kilometers before that place. They were having some breakfast, then the terrorists came. He asked that you were Hindu or Muslim … and after that they shot in my son’s head.”
He further said, “My daughter -in -law asked him to kill him too, but he did not do so. He told him that we are leaving you alive so that you can tell PM Modi all this. We met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Srinagar and we told him what we want.”
Earlier, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi had met the family of Shubham Dwivedi of Kanpur, who was killed in the Pahalgam attack during the UP visit. Shubham’s wife started crying after seeing Rahul. On this, Rahul embraced him and consoled him. Shubham’s father also could not stop his tears after seeing the Congress leader.
After the meeting, Rahul Gandhi said in a social media post that in this hour of grief, the whole country is with bereaved families. He said that strict and concrete action should be taken against the terrorists. He said that the entire opposition has supported the government for this. Rahul Gandhi has also demanded to call a special session of Parliament.

India and Pakistan reached a consent on 10 May to end the military conflict after drone and missile attacks for four days.
