School education improved in Delhi
According to the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2023-24, there has been a good improvement in school education in Delhi. Compared to last year, there has been a rise of 44 points in Delhi’s score and 41 points in Himachal Pradesh score. This time Delhi’s score has been 623.7.
Grade-3 to Delhi, Punjab
Chandigarh is the only state/union territory in the country to score 703 in the Performance Grading Index (PGI). Along with this, Chandigarh has made it to the Top Prachesta-1 grade (Score Range: 701-760). The same, Delhi, Punjab (631.2) and Odisha, Kerala, Dadra-Nagar Haveli, Haryana, Goa, Maharashtra and Rajasthan with Gujarat (614.4) have made it to the Prachesta-3 category.
The biggest decline in Andaman and Nicobar score
The largest 43 points in the performance of school education have fallen in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. After this, the score points of Chhattisgarh (39), Lakshadweep (33), West Bengal (14), Karnataka (12), Bihar (12), Uttarakhand (12), Kerala (8), Mizoram (7), Ladakh (6), Tamil Nadu (4) and Jharkhand (4) have been recorded.
What is Performance Grading Index PGI?
The Performance Grading Index (PGI) was launched by the Ministry of Education in the year 2017-18. This is a data based framework. Which grades the performance of states and union territories in school education every year on a scale of 1000 marks. Based on this, grade is provided from efficient (91-100%) to aspiration-3 (10%).
Meghalaya’s performance is the most poor
Meghalaya’s performance has been the worst in the Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2023-24. It has secured 417 scores. In this way it is the only state in the lowest grade aspiration-3. 10 states have received the Grade on Khishtha-3, 14, aspiring-1 (521-580), 10 aspiration-2 (461-520) grade.
