RCP thrives in Nitish’s shadow

In 2010, when RCP joined JDU with voluntary retirement, Nitish also made him a Rajya Sabha MP twice. RCP did not have the same stature in Bihar politics as soon as Nitish’s trust broke. Except for the ‘approximate loss’ to Nitish Kumar in future, it is Nitish who separated himself from RCP. In 2021, when RCP Singh became a minister at the center in 2021, then Nitish did not send him to Rajya Sabha for the third time. It was clear with Nitish’s decision that he no longer wants RCP Singh in his camp.

BJP did not give a sense of Nitish’s removal

RCP may have been ministers in the central government, but when Nitish Kumar left him, the BJP also pulled back. Truth or winding to create an organization like RSS

RCP Singh is credited that he played an important role in putting JDU’s organization on the lines of RSS. But this is not visible in the election results. As an example, RCP joined JDU in 2010. Assembly elections were also held in the same year. Looking at the figures since 2005, JDU got the most seats in the 2010 assembly elections. In 2010, JDU brought 115 seats in the 243 -member assembly for the only time.

Now RCP joined the party in the same year, so in just a few months he would not have created an organization like RSS. The party’s performance in two assembly elections held after RCP joined JDU continued to deteriorate. In 2015, JDU got 71 seats, while in 2020, the figure was reduced to 43. Meanwhile, the 2014 Lok Sabha election results are also worth seeing. JDU won just 2 seats in that election. JDU won 16 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The United NDA won 39 out of 40 seats. This was the result of BJP-JDU’s natural alliance more than RCP’s organizational capacity.

RCP, who has been doing politics for the last 14 years, has not contested a single ground election, ie Lok Sabha or Assembly. RCP Singh is now going to sit in the first exam with Prashant Kishore. Such an election means in which the public selects its leader and sends it to the House. And RCP has no experience of this fight till now. He has been a Rajya Sabha member twice. This election depends mainly on the number of MLAs. Both times Nitish sent him to Rajya Sabha and he has not reached Parliament since he pulled his hand for the third time.

Will RCP be able to break into Kurmi caste?

Another thing is being said about RCP Singh that he comes from Kurmi caste and has been active in Nalanda. In such a situation, he can harm Nitish Kumar. It is possible that this may happen. But for RCP Singh in ethnic politics -based state like Bihar, doing this will not be less than a major achievement. The reason for this is that the Kurmi community with only three percent of the vote bank has been standing behind its leader Nitish. And if Nitish plays a bet like ‘final election’ in Bihar election, then very little is hopeful that the vote of Kurmi fraternity bends to some other side.

An example of basic vote bank in Bihar is also seen in RJD. During the last three decades, many Yadav leaders emerged such that Lalu Yadav’s alternative or future leader was promoted, but it could not happen. Pappu Yadav is also one of such leaders, who were tried to establish as leaders of Yadavs other than Lalu. Apart from this, leaders like Nandkishore Yadav and Nityanand Rai were betting on behalf of BJP to help Yadav vote bank. Despite these efforts, most of the votes of Yadavs in the state were with Lalu and his family. If we talk about Kurmi Votebank, then till now he has also stood firmly with Nitish Kumar. If there is any major change in future elections, then it will be a matter of view.

Politics with ‘enemy’s enemy friend’ instead of natural coalition

Another problem in the RCP alliance with PK is that it is not a natural alliance. We have seen that the future of electoral alliances is not very sustainable. Both PK and RCP have been rivals to each other. It is said that RCP was also the important reasons for PK leaving the JDU. So this coalition, the election friendship less and the ‘desire’ to remove Nitish Kumar from power is more felt. Apart from this, changing the party again and again is not seen as a good message among the common Indian people. The proverbs like ‘Aya Ram-Gaya Ram’ became famous in the country only about the party. RCP Singh is in the fourth party within the last three years.
