How to get admission in Elam
For admission in the Latin American School of Medicine in Cuba, one has to apply through the Cuba Embassy or its country’s health agency. Talking about merit, it is necessary to have good marks in intermediate (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English). Apart from this, it is also mandatory to learn Spanish language. Indians need to pass NEET UG.
Application process
Apply for admission to MBBS in Latin American School of Medicine only through the official Cuba Embassy or Approved Agent. Its form is generally filled between January to March (by March). After the application, the candidates are selected by the Joint Committee of Cuban Ministry of Public Health and Elam Faculty.
Selection process
- Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of merit and economic background.
- This is followed by interview/entrance examination (optional in some cases).
- Capacity evaluation of English/Spanish language
- Health and police certificate investigation
- List of final selection and failed candidates public
Scholarship facilities
- Complete tuition, hostels, food, books, uniforms, beds, toiletries free three times a day
- Stipend- About 100–46000 cuban peso (₹ 4– ₹ 1800) per month
- Students will have to bear the journey expenses, visa fees and traveling abroad.
MBBS course structure in Cuba
Foreign students are taught about the Spanish language and Cuba culture for a year. After this, there will be a medical course of six years i.e. 12 semester+ 1 year Rotatori Internship.
