MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery): This is a 5.5 -year course, which includes 4.5 years of studies and 1 year internship. KGMU has 250 MBBS seats.
BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery):This is a 5 -year course, including 1 year internship. There are 70 seats of BDS.

KGMU MBBS Fee: What is the course fee in KGMU?

The fees of King George Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow may change every year, but according to the 2025-26 session on the KGMU website, the tuition fee of MBBS is about ₹ 54,900 every year. The entire fee of 5.5 years can be around ₹ 2.46 lakhs. Apart from this, hostels, exam fees and rest of the charges are levied, which can be up to ₹ 20,000- ₹ 30,000 every year. Similarly, BDS’s annual fees are also as much as MBBS i.e. ₹ 54,900. The hostels and the rest of the charges will be separate. The KGMU enrolled in MBBS and BDS is based on the NEET UG score. Here is step-by-step process-

1.Neet ug 2025 exam: First of all you have to pass the NEET UG exam. The NEET UG exam of 2025 was held on 4 May 2025 and its result is expected to come on 14 June 2025. For this, there should be at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in your 12th. It will be 45% for at least 50% marks. SC/ST/IBC will be 45% for the age of 31 December 2025. Needed.
2. Register for counseling: After the NEET UG result, you have to participate in Uttar Pradesh NEET UG counseling, which makes Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Lucknow. For this, register on upneet.gov.in.
3. Choice filling: In counseling, you have to choose colleges and courses of your choice. Keep Kgmu in the first choice here.
4. Set allotment: Your NEET UG will be allotted on the basis of score, rank, reservation category and availability of seats.
5. Document verification and fee deposit: If you get a seat in KGMU, then documents will have to be verified. For example, 12th marksheet, NEET scorecard, Aadhaar card, 8 passport size photos and fees have to be submitted.

MBBS Cutoff (General Category)- In 2024, the cutoff of All India Quota, AIQ of MBBS in KGMU was 2059 rank (about 650+ marks). Similarly, State Quota was ranked 1352.

2022: In the year 2022, AIQ-1457 rank (about 660 marks), State Quota-2400 ranked.
2021: In the year 2021, AIQ-1325 rank (about 665 marks), State Quota-2400 ranked.

In 2024, BDS cutoff at KGMU was ranked AIQ-25956 rank (about 550 marks), State Quota-30404 rank.
2023: In the year 2023, AIQ-27002 rank (about 545 marks), State Quota-222369 rank.
2022: In the year 2022, AIQ-23559 rank (about 560 marks), State Quota-29714 rank.
2021: In the year 2022, AIQ-21900 rank (about 570 marks).

The cutoff changes every year. It depends on how many students gave the exam, how much was the paper and how many seats are there. NEET UG exam is the first step to enroll in KGMU, Lucknow.
