Sanjay Gandhi PGI Lucknow was founded in 1983 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. This institute is known for its excellent medical education, research and care of patients. It is located in Rae Bareli Road, Lucknow in a huge campus of 550 acres and is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and University Grants Commission (UGC). But SGPGIMS Lucknow is not available MBBS course. A total of 49 courses are available in SGPGIMS. These are courses of medical, nursing and paramedical. These courses are divided into UG, PG, doctoral and certificate programs.

Undergraduate (UG) course
B.Sc. nursing: 4 -year course, in which nursing training is given.
B.Sc. paramedical course: 4-year courses, including many specializations-
– Operation Theater Technology
– Renal Dialysis Technology
– Anesthesia Technology
– Imaging Technology (Radio Diagnosis)
– Radiotherapy Technology
– Respiratory Care Technology
– Medical Laboratory Technology (Himatology)
-Bachachalor of Physiotherapy (BPT): 5 years course, including 9 semesters.

Postgraduate (PG) Course
MD (Doctor of Medicine): 3-year course, in which specializations like-
– Anesthesiology
– Microbiology
– Nuclear Medicine
– Pathology
– Radioediagnosis
– Radiotherapy
– Transfusion Medicine
MS (Master of Surgery): 3-year course, in which specializations like-
– Opthalmology
– orthopedics
M.Sc: 2-year course, in which specializations like-

Master of Hospital Administration (MHA): 2 year course, for hospital management.

Super-Specialty and Doctoral Course
DM (Doctor of Medicine): 3-year course, in which specializations like-

– Medical Genetics
– Gastroenterology
– Endocrinology
M.C. (Master of Chirurji): 3-year course, in which specializations like-
– Neurosurgery
– Surgical Gastroenterology

Ph.D: 3-year research-based program, including specializations such as endocrinology, gastroenterology, immunology, medical genetics, neurology etc.
Under the Post-Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC) and Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF), specialization such as pathology, neuro-radiology, pediatric gastroenterology is conducted.

Senior Residency Program
MD/MS and DM/M.CH students are appointed as junior or senior residents during the course.

How much fees do you pay for which course?

The fees in SGPGIMS are different on the basis of courses and specialization. For example, B.Sc Nursing fee is Rs 68,800. Similarly, B.Sc (paramedical course) fees cost Rs 79,800. The BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) costs Rs 3,06,000. MD/MS fees costs Rs 72,800. The fees of MHA (Master of Hospital Administration) are Rs 58,800 (first year) and for DM/M.C. The first year fee is Rs 72,800 and the full course is for Rs 1,48,000. Here the first year fee of Ph.D is Rs 26,800 and Rs 75,900 for the certificate course. It costs Rs 2,000-6,000).

How much does scholarship get?

SGPGIMS provides 100% scholarship and state scholarship for low -income students whose annual income is less than Rs 60,000. Also, merit-based scholarship and loan facility are also available.

Admission in PGI: How admission occurs in SGPGIMS

Admission to SGPGIMS is mainly based on entrance exam and merit. The process varies depending on the course.

2. Apply in the admission section for the related course.
3. Fill the online form, upload the necessary documents.
4. Deposit the application fee (about Rs 1,000) online.
5. Submit the form and keep a printout.
