Nasa astronaut sunita williams takes command of international space station

Astronaut Sunita Williams of American Space Agency NASA has officially taken over the International Space Station (ISS). This is the second time when Williams takes command of ISS. Earlier, she also led a mission in 2012. In June, Williams and his partner Astronaut Butch Wilmore arrived on the ISS only through Boeing’s Starliner Spacecraft on an eight -day mission. However, Williams and Wilmore’s return has been postponed by February next year due to a technical problem in Starlineer. ISS is commanded by Astronaut Oleg Kononenko of Russia to Williams. Kononenko’s return to Earth is determined soon. Williams will monitor various types of functioning and research as commander of ISS.

Recently Williams shared his views on the delay in returning to Earth at a video press conference. He described ISS as a ‘happy place’. Williams said that due to his previous experience, adjustment about life in space is not difficult. In this regard, Wilmore said that there was no agreement on his return on Starlineer. Their stay has increased due to no solution to some technical problems. Wilmore had reported that his current situation is for better in view of the safety fears with Starlineer.

Williams admitted that her stay on ISS has some tension but she is focusing on the mission. Both these Astronauts also expressed a desire for the president in the US to cast their vote from space in the upcoming election. There is a contest between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris in this election. Starlineer Spacecraft was finding it difficult to reach ISS. Among them, the leak of helium from spacecraft was also a problem. For this reason Nasa And Boeing decided to bring it to earth without astronauts. Last month, the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) had said that these challenges facing NASA would be a significant learning for the country’s Gaganyaan mission. The head of ISRO, S Somanath said that this situation is an important learning for the Gaganyaan Mission. The first Test flight of this human rated rocket may be at the end of this year. <!–
