According to the IMD data, the monsoon arrived in Kerala on 30 May last year, 2023 June, 2022 on 29 May, 2021 in 2021, on June 3, 2020 on 1 June, on June 8, 2019, and on 29 May in 2018.

There is no guarantee to reach other parts of the country too early

According to the news agency PTI, an official said that the early monsoon coming to Kerala does not mean that it will reach other parts of the country in the same way. He said that it is determined by a variety of global, regional and local factors. The IMD had predicted more rainfall than normal during the monsoon this year in April, which dismissed the possibility of El Nino’s situation. The Al Nino system is associated with less than normal rainfall in the Indian subcontinent.

Red Alert for Goa

The Meteorological Department issued a red alert on Friday, indicating extremely heavy rains, which will remain in effect till Sunday. All waterfalls have been closed for swimming activity.
