Mercedes AMG GT XX Concept Debut

Do you remember the Mercedes-Benz C111 range of conceptual vehicles of the 60s and 70s in orange shades that have stunned the world? NO? How about the extraordinary concept of a Mercedes vision that debuted in 2023? The company has now debuted with the concept of Mercedes AMG GT XX which looks like a version close to the production of these concepts, especially in that orange shade. Let’s take a closer look.

Mercedes AMG GT XX concept

AMG, which is the high-performance division of Mercedes-Benz, has devised their first fully electrical conceptual vehicle. Called AMG GT XX, this vehicle concept is intended to generate a version of road production in the future. Once launched, it will be the production vehicle for the first series that will come out of Mercedes and AMG.

The concept of GT XX of AMG is a large four -door large electric with an inclined coupe roof line. In the front, he gets the Merca Panamericana grid with enlightened frame, huge hood balls for air suction, raked windshield, elegant LED lighthouses and a sporting front lip, finished in black.

Looking at the sides, we can see 21 “aerodynamic wheels, AMG plaque on the panels of the front fourth, large rear acorn, functional Orvm, wire doors handles, rear privacy glass, sports side skirts and those that seem to be signs without frames.

The design does not seem only aerodynamic, but is aerodynamic with a coefficient of air resistance of 0.198 cd. While this concept seems close to production, the final model should arrive with a rear windshield, which does not do. Inside, we get interior similar to those with orange illuminated pipes, imitating high voltage cables.

A 10.2 -inch tools, 14 -inch infotainment screen, an AMG’s Take steering, paddle changes to control Regen, elegant central console, door opening flaps, seats of the carbon fiber bucket and recycled materials are some of the important elements. A SUV based on this vehicle should also go to production besides it, some time in 2026.

Engine and performance

The production version of the Mercedes AMG GT XX concept will be supported by AMG.EA high voltage architecture which promises for performance prospects. The 114 kWh battery pack used in this concept uses an NMC (Nichel, Manganese, Cobalto) chemistry and uses a sophisticated cooling technology inspired by the Formula 1 racing division of Mercedes.

The 800 V architecture promises up to 850 kW of peak DC charging which can add a range of 400 km in just 5 minutes. This battery powers three axial flow engines (one front, two rear) with a total exit of the 1,360 HP system with a maximum speed of 360 km/h. The Mercedes AMG GT XX could become the first fully electric vehicle launched with axial flow engines after being viewed with the hybrid hypercars hybrids Ferrari SF90 road and the daredevil Lamborghini.
