Gayaji Patwa Toli of Gaya district is also known as IITian Village of Bihar. Every year a large number of students are selected for IITs. This year, 12 students from Patwa Toli have been selected for IIT. Now there is often a question in people’s mind that every year such a number of students from this village are selected for IITs? Let’s know about this special success story….

Manchester of Bihar

Actually, Patwa Toli village is located in Manpur block area and in one round this place was also known as Manchester of Bihar. There are large scale textile industries here. Even today, more than 10 thousand powerloom and more than 300 handloom are operated daily. Here mainly dhoti, pot, bed sheets, sarees etc. are constructed and are sent to many states of the country. When the power loom moves here, everything is lost in the sound of the knock of the power loom.

IIT series started in 1991
For the first time in the year 1991, a student named Jitendra Prasad was selected for IIT from this village. Since then, the students of the village started increasing interest in engineering or IITians. After that, every year some students started being selected in IIT. One reason behind the success of the children here is that whenever students go home from here to IIT or NIT College, they give all their time to the siblings of Patwa Toli. Apart from this, the earlier students used to sit in a group and prepare.

Successful students come and study

The number of IITians increased and the ‘tree-B the Change’ institution opened here. Preparations for free engineering for children were started here. First, the children of Patwa Toli, who were studying in their home in the midst of powerloom voice, became IITAN, now their junior brothers and sisters got a place in the tree by the change institution where the children sat together in a peaceful atmosphere and started preparing for IITs. In this institution, children were given an e-library model where the children sat down and started preparing. When needed, the senior people who have come out of here guide their junior children.

Travel from guidance to success
Right now, summer vacation is going on in all engineering colleges of the state and the country, due to which many engineering students of Patwa Toli are also coming to their homes. These students reach the tree by the change institution for guidance to junior children and guide junior children and the difficult questions that children are unable to solve are guided by the senior. Rupam Kumar and Suraj Kumar, two senior students of NIT College, are guiding junior children these days. Both these students have also reached the engineering college after studying from this institution.
