There are many beer in the background from Mahindra’s house. The company is developing an electrical version of XUV3XO, a lifting for XUV700, an all new SUV that could be the new Bolero or a new version of Thar for exports. In the midst of all this, Mahindra is also working on a lifting for his Thar (3 doors).
The first series of Lifting Thar light shots has emerged recently and there could be thin differences in design in the front and a complete update in terms of characteristics and equipment. In view of Thar’s restyling, Mahindra has made some reviews to Thar starting from the month of June production that suggest the cut of costs. Let’s take a closer look.

Mahindra Thar gets steel escort wheel
Ever since it was launched, the Top-specific layout level of Thar, the LX, has been offered with 5 alloy wheels. He remained true also with Thar LX 1.5L Diesel. However, in June 2025, there have been some changes that suggest cost cutters without price reviews. The most remarkable is the absence of the rear alloy wheel from the LX setting level now.

This has been replaced with a steel wheel and a wheel cover, reminiscent of what Mahindra offers with Thar Roxx. Instead of saying Thar Roxx, says Thar (for obvious reasons). On Thar Roxx, this cover also incorporates an inverse camera, which is not the case with Thar (3 doors).

Another change is with its tires that come from JK tires, rather than Mrf or Ceat. Mahindra usually offers A/T Mrf Wanderer tires with Thar and started offering Ceat Crossdrive A/T Tyes from June 2022 collar the cost. However, MRF tires have returned somehow around May 2023. This mixing between tire brands may also be due to problems of the supply chain.

Any other changes?
Now, the units produced in June 2025 are equipped with A/T JK Ranger tires. These tires are not known to offer an excellent feeling of driving and traction due to their convenient nature. These costs cutting measures may be limited to the RWD Diesel Thar LX 1.5L configuration in this video or in all Thar LX variants.
In addition to these changes, Mahindra Thar continues to have the same sales success that has always been. It continues to be powered by the same trio of engines: a 1.5 -liter turbo diesel, a 2.0 -liter turbo petrol and a 2.2 -liter turbo diesel. Depending on the engine, you can have a manual or automatic gearbox or RWD or 4WD configurations.
