University of Liverpool: Many famous universities of the world are opening their campuses in India. Now the name of Liverpool University of United Kingdom has also been included. This is the second university of the UK, which is going to open its campus in India. Earlier, Southhampton University opened its campus in Delhi.
According to reports, Liverpool University, established in 1881, will set up its first campus in India in Bengaluru. For this, the UGC has also received approval in the form. It is expected that the admission in this campus will start from 2026. This campus will offer courses in law, business and health science.
Liverpool University has already established strong relations with the state of Bengaluru and Karnataka. Which includes research partnership with the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMhans). The university has received formal approval from UGC to set up campus in India. Senior Education Officer including Central Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and UGC Interim President Dr. Vineet Joshi were present at a function organized on the occasion.
15 universities will start campus in India
During the program, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that this is a big step towards internationalization of education in India. This year 15 foreign universities will start their campus in India. This will not only benefit the students but will also strengthen the education system of the country.
What will be the benefit?
With the opening of foreign universities campus in India, education of international quality will now be available in the country itself. The cost of studying abroad will be saved. Students of India will get global exposure. There will be a boost in the research and innovation. In India, you will get international degree. All this is being done under the new National Education Policy (NEP) in which India is planned to create a global education hub. It is a concrete step in this direction to allow foreign universities to open campus in India.
