JNVST Class 6 Admission 2026-27: Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has started the online application process for admission in class 6 in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) for academic year 2026-27. Interested parents and parents can now register their children on the official website navodaya.gov.in or cbseitms.rcil.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria for admission in class 6 in Navodaya Vidyalaya

Residence Proof: The applicant can apply in the same district where he resides. A valid residence certificate will be mandatory for this.
Educational Background: The student has passed class 3, 4 and 5 regularly from a government, aided or recognized school.
Limit of effort: JNVST gets only one chance of application. Once you take the exam, you will not be eligible for it again.
Rural Reservation: 75% of the total seats are reserved for rural students. For this, the student should study in school in class 3 to 5.
The remaining seats: The remaining 25% of the seats are filled on merit basis and are open to the students of both urban and rural areas.

Apply for Navodaya Vidyalaya Class 6

Go to Navodaya Vidyalaya’s official website navodaya.gov.in.
Click on the link of ‘Class 6 Registration 2026’ on the home page.
Go to the new page and choose the registration link.
Fill all the necessary personal and educational details.
Upload documents like passport size photo, signature and residence certificate.
Submit the application form and keep its print copy safe for the future.

JNVST 2026 Exam Dates (two phases)

Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Exam will be held in two phases, which will depend on the location of the applicant:
Step 1: 13 December, 2025 (11:30 am)
State/Union Territories included in this phase: Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Jharkhand, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal (Except Darjeeling)

All union territories (except Ladakh)
Step 2: 11 April, 2026 (11:30 am)
It involved areas: Jammu and Kashmir (except some districts), Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh (Dibang Valley and Tawang), Himachal Pradesh (Chamba, Kinnaur, Mandi etc.), Darjeeling in West Bengal, and Union Territory Ladakh (Leh, Kargil)
