Jnu phd admissions 2025: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has started the application process for PhD programs of academic year 2025-26. Candidates can apply online from 26 June to 7 July, while the facility of application improvement will be available from 8-9 July. Those candidates who want to apply for this, they can apply by visiting JNU’s official website jnu.ac.in.
There will be no entrance exam, student union started indefinite hunger strike
The student union (JNUSU) has started an indefinite hunger strike from Thursday night against the university administration’s decision to keep the UGC-NET candidates out of the admission process of June 2025 out of the admission process and not start the JNU PHD Entrance Exam).
Complete schedule of admission process continues
Oral Examination: Will be held from 25 to 31 July
First merit list: Will be released on 11 August.
Second Merit List: Will be released on August 29.
Third and final merit list: will be published on 15 September.
The last date for last nomination and verification has been set as 30 September.
Student union opposition and allegations
Describing the university’s entry policy as “boycott” and “undemocratic”, the student union has strongly condemned the decision to exclude UGC-NET candidates. The Sangh says that this decision affects a large part of MA pass-out students. The student organization has long reiterated the demand to resume JNU PHD Entrance Examination (JNUEE), which they consider to be a more justified and transparent method.
Accused of refusal to communicate with administration
The JNU Students Union has alleged that the administration has clearly refused to talk to the elected student representatives. Student leaders including Chairman Nitish Kumar, Vice President Manisha and General Secretary Muntheha Fatima have said that the hunger strike will continue till their demands are met.
