Major Abhilasha Barak has become an officer in the army by clearing SSB in the fourth time by Major Abhilasha Barak. She has attained the distinction of becoming the first female fighter of the army, adding a new chapter in Indian military history. This achievement is not only a symbol of their personal courage and dedication, but it is also an inspirational milestone for the participation of women in the armed forces of India.
Combat Aviation Training Success
Major Barak completed the training on 25 May 2022 from Combat Army Aviation Training School in Nashik. On this occasion, he was awarded the iconic ‘Wings’ of the army along with 36 other pilots. The army celebrated this day as “Golden Letter Day”, which reflects their historical achievement.
DTU to B.Tech, Crack 4 times SSB
Major Abhilasha Barak, who became the first female fighter of the army, has completed his schooling from Lawrence School, Sanawar. After this, he did B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Delhi Technological University (DTU). He later worked for some time in Deloite (America), but soon he decided to join the army. After graduating in the year 2016, Major Barak started preparations for recruitment in the army. He passed the SSB interview four times and received a commission in the Army Air Defense Corps in September 2018.
Stay in the army both father and brother
Major Abhilasha, who hails from Panchkula (Haryana), belongs to a military family. His father Colonel (retired) S.K. Both Om Singh and brother have served in the army. Major Barak grew up in the atmosphere of the army made the spirit of service to his life. He successfully completed many military courses and rigorous training. He was selected as the Contegent Commander for the presentation of colors in the Republic Day Parade by Army Air Defense. In this role he was honored by the then President Ram Nath Kovind.
