Indian Army Story: If the intentions are strong, no dream can remain incomplete. Similarly, Punit Mankotia of Himachal Pradesh has fulfilled his dream by becoming an officer in the army. He was attracted to olive green uniform since childhood. Today, he is a lieutenant in the Indian Army and is not only realizing his childhood dreams, but is also fulfilling his family and especially with his father.
Inspiration for patriotism from family
Puneet Mankotia, who became an officer in the Indian Army, belongs to Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. His family has been associated with the tradition of the army. His father, Naib, retired from the signal core as Subedar, who introduced him to values such as discipline, duty and honor. Both his elder brothers also wore army uniforms, which made this service spirit even deeper. Inspired by these ideals, Puneet decided to make a career in the army.
Travel from gunner to the best instructor
Puneet started his service in the army as a gunner in December 2009. From the beginning, he showed excellence. In the School of Artillery, Devalali, he finished first in both basic and advanced courses. He later worked in a 625 SATA battery, then became a Regimental Havildar Major (RHM) and also served as a technical instructor. In all these roles, he performed well of leadership, dedication and skill.
India’s name bright on international stage
In the year 2023, Puneet served on the Syrian-Israel border under the United Nation Disposth Observatory Force (UndOF). His work and dedication there were appreciated by the Force Commander, which was a major achievement received at the international level.
Did not give up, an example was made
Puneet always wanted to become an officer in the army. He tried twice for the Special Commission Officers (SCO) entry, but could not succeed. However, he did not give up. For the third time, he was successful and his dream of becoming an officer was fulfilled. This is a proof of their patience and never stopping passion.
Start a new chapter
Puneet’s appointment as lieutenant is not only a promotion, but a new responsibility. This is the story of the young man who learned from the ground and touched the heights. Now they are working as an inspiration to carry forward the tradition of the Indian Army.
