1- Qaid-e-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad
Global rank: 354
Properties: Constant top rank in Pakistan. 51st place in Citations per faculty.

2- National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad
Global rank: 353
Properties: 100th in stability, 86 rank jumped in International Research Network.

3- University of the Punjab, Lahore
Global rank: 601-700 bands
Properties: Improvement in educational reputation and research.

4- Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS)
Global rank: 601-700 bands
Properties: Strong in management and social science.

5- Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences (Pieas)
Global rank: 400
Properties: Great in engineering and technology.

6- University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore
Global rank: 701-800 band
Properties: Constant progress in technical education.

Number of institutions: In 2022, more than 30 universities joined the rankings in 2026 to 2026.

Top 1000 increase: In 2023, 7 universities were in the top 1000, including the new entry of the University of Peshawar.

Regional Performance: The QS Asia University Ranking 2025 included 70 Pakistani University, including QAU and Nust Top 100.

In the QS World University Ranking 2026, India made a strong presence with 54 institutions, while more than 30 universities from Pakistan are included. India is the fourth most represented country in this ranking, while Pakistan is showing progress at the regional level. Three institutions in India- IIT Delhi (123), IIT Bombay (129) and IIT Madras (180)- are in the top 200, while no university in Pakistan is in the top 200. Both countries are facing challenges in international student ratio.
