India Latest Sun Mission Aditya L1 Finds Crucial Solar Storm data for world

Visible Emission Line Coronagraph (VELC) on Aditya-L1 collected data about coronal mass ejection (CM). The surface of the sun is constantly burning and fountains of lava -like energy have been seen leaving. This is the phenomenon occurring on the upper layer of corona. According to R Ramesh, a professor of the Indian Institute of Astrophysics, designing the VELC device, there are coronal mass ejections or cme -fire shells that keep bursting from the surface of the sun. They are made up of energy particles. CME can weigh up to trillion kilograms. Their speed can be up to 3000 kilometers of percentage. They can move in any direction. Even towards the earth.

In this way, when a cme moves towards the Earth, it takes 15 hours to reach the earth by walking at its top speed. Because the distance between the Sun and the Earth is 15 million kilometers. The device collected data about the CME captured on 16 July. It started at 13:08 GMT. Astrophysical Journal Letters were also published about this coronal mass ejection, stating that it was born towards the earth. But within half an hour of its birth, its direction changed and it moved towards the other direction. It was far away from the earth, so its effect could not reach here.

Solar storm, coronal mass ejections have been constantly affecting the Earth’s atmosphere. They also affect the atmosphere of space where there are about 7800 satellites in the outer orbit of the Earth, of which 50 are also from India. According to Professor R Ramesh, at present our everyday life has become largely dependent on these satellites because most of the communication including internet connection is through these. Therefore, there is a need to be careful with coronal mass ejections as they can harm the Earth’s megatic field as well as satellites.
