IIT delhi: IIT Delhi has made a complete change in its syllabus after 12 years to reduce the burden on students and meet the changing demands of the industry. This information has been given by the director of the institute Rangan Banerjee. Banerjee said in an interview to PTI on Tuesday that the last time the syllabus was replaced in the year 2013. He said that the demands of the industry are changing rapidly. AI is a new bulge and focusing on stability.

Director of IIT Delhi said that the exercise to improve the syllabus started in the year 2022. He said that in the last few years we have taken widespread response from stakeholders. We are talking to our alumni, students. Our faculty is connected to industry and society. We have tried to bring flexibility to make the course more exciting for the students.

Reduced core credit score

Banerjee said that the concern of the burden on the students was definitely an important factor. Which guided the improvement in our syllabus. He said that we have limited the number of core credits per semester and especially in the first two semesters, when first year students are involved, they will have a relatively low burden. We have also tried to see that the size of classes should be small in the first year. He said that the size of the class for the first two semesters will now be 150 instead of 300, so that more personal attention can be ensured.

Programming included in syllabus

Banerjee said that we have also focused on learning by doing. Therefore, it has been in our mind to reduce stress, but we also want to ensure that our curriculum has rigidity and option elements and then try to reduce the burden. One of the important changes made in the syllabus is in programming education, in which the AI-based code generator is integrated into the initial course on programming. All B.Tech Faculty students will have to undergo compulsory training for the future responsibly and on the way to use it morally.

B.Tech Third Year Student will be able to choose MTech course
