

As part of the expansion of his production, Hyundai Motor India began operations at his Talagaon manufacturing structure recently acquired in the state of the Maharashtra. While both the engines and the vehicles are intended to be manufactured here, the company has started the production of engines and vehicles must follow soon.
Hyundai talenon plant
In 2023, Hyundai Motor India closed an agreement with General Motors to acquire the production structure of the latter to Talagaon, which is located in the Midc phase II expansion area in Maval Tehsil, in the District of Punk. This was part of Hyundai’s long -term strategy to increase its internal production capacity and make less relying on imported parts.
It should be noted that the General Motors continued the operations in their Talagaon system until 2020
Out of 300 acres, this Talagaon manufacturing system has an annual production capacity of 1,60,000 engines and 1,30,000 vehicles previously. Hyundai began the production of engines in this structure on June 16, 2025 and it is expected that alleviating the bottleneck faced by the growing demand for Hyundai vehicles.



Vehicle production to start early
The growing demand derives from both the Indian market and from global markets. This new structure will complete the production structure of Hyundai in Sriperumbudur near Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The company also provides engines in Kia India and the new new structure to Talagaon could be able to manage any sudden diluts that derive from a greater demand for Kia vehicles, according to needs.
Now that the production of engines has started, Hyundai should also start the production of vehicles in this Talagaon structure by the end of 2025. The models provided to be manufactured here is the imminent Hyundai seat, which is a new generation model with a new design language. This structure may also be changed to meet local assembly operations for global vehicles launched through the CKD route.
