Health Alert: Private school children are getting fat! High BP, diabetes victims, disclosure in AIIMS research from now on

New Delhi (Health Alert, Delhi Private Schools)These days a large number of school children are struggling with obesity. Increasing Intake of changing lifestyle and packaged food is a major reasons for this. CBSE has recently issued orders to all schools to install sugar boards and keep healthy food in the canteen. Now an AIIMS research has revealed that problems like obesity and hypertension (high BP) are increasing rapidly among children studying in private schools in Delhi.

Children studying in government and private schools in Delhi are growing rapidly in children’s fat fat, high blood pressure and ‘hidden obesity’. Research report of AIIMS and ICMR is worrying. It warns that these symptoms can lead to diabetes and heart diseases later. This research was done on 3,888 children aged 6 to 19 years. The figures that have come in it are quite surprising.

Symptoms found in 34% children

AIIMS’s Children’s Obesity Research Report found that symptoms like obesity, dislipidemia and blood pressure are more among private schools. But it is not that the children of government school are left untouched by this. Problems like obesity and high BP are increasing rapidly in children studying in government schools. About 34% of children found dyslipidemia i.e. fat is high but the muscles are less. In this research, 1,985 students were from government schools and 1,903 from private schools.

What is the reason for deteriorating health?

These days, most children eat cheap branded snacks and fried-root street food. Not only this, most of the students have become addicted to mobile, due to which their physical activity is getting reduced. Children’s screen time has increased, they eat outside food and are unable to spend calories. Because of this, fat has started freezing around various parts of the body. These days, the lifestyle of most children has started deteriorating from a young age.

Research figures are scary

The chief researcher of this research is Dr. M. Kalavani. He says that the average obesity was 5 percent in 2006, which has now increased to 23 percent of the children of affluent families who study in private schools. Dr. Kalavani of AIIMS says that along with children of private schools, children studying in government schools have started spreading obesity. He says that it is necessary to include more protein and fiber in mid-day meal. Physical activity should also be increased in children’s routine.

Along with this, parents also need to pay more attention to children. They should control the children’s diet and screen time or else the problem can increase further.
