About 17.7 million users have been made aware about fraud through Google’s Digikavach program. This awareness program will be expanded in partnership with the Central Government’s Cyber Crime Cordination Center (I4C). Google’s VP and Country Manager in the country, Preti Lobana said, “Digital ecosystem can only become a source of growth when people using it feel safe.” The company’s AI systems are providing effective results on their consumer platforms. Google’s messages are securing users with more than 50 crore suspicious messages every month through AI powered scam detection. Google Pay has displayed around 4.1 million transactions for fraud.
The company’s search engine is holding the scam pages 20 times more than before. The Google Play Protect has blocked about six crore attempts to install higher risk apps since its launch in October last year. With this, more than 1.2 crore devices have been saved from malware. Last year, Google removed about 24.7 million fraud ads. Apart from this, about 29 lakh accounts were blocked due to violation of the company’s policy.
