Faridabad: DAV Shatabdi College of Faridabad is becoming the first choice of students for admission these days. Applications for admission come here every year, but this time the situation is different. This year, more applications have been received than the seats available in the college. It is clear that the trend of students is constantly moving towards this institute.

Assistant Professor of the college, Dr. Surbhi said that the number of seats is fixed in every department, but this time the applications that have come, are much higher than the number of seats. In many courses, two times or more applications have been received against seats.

How many applications came in which course?
According to Dr. Surbhi, where there are 320 seats in Bachelor of Arts (BA), 652 applications have been received so far. About 100 applications have come for 60 seats in BA Journalism Course. At the same time, 872 students have applied for 240 seats in BCA course.

The situation is even more interesting in the BBA course. 1025 application forms have been filled for 300 seats here so far. Students’ interest in commerce field has also increased. Both BCom courses have 240-240 seats for both added and self finance and 763 applications have been received for them. Bachelor of Physical Science has 139 applications for 240 seats. At the same time, 60 applications have been received for 60 seats of travel and tourism course, that is, this course has been filled to its full capacity.

1000 students told DAV first choice
Another assistant professor of the college, Omita Johar, said that so far more than 3200 applications have come. Out of these, about 1000 students have chosen DAV Shatabdi College as their first choice. It is clear that the education system, faculty and atmosphere of the college is very much liked by the students.

What is the process of admission now?

According to the college administration, the last date for filling the form was 16 June, which is now over. Now new forms will be filled only when the first merit list is released. The first provisional merit list will be released on 25 June, after which the admission process will start from 26 June.

Students who will not be able to join the first merit list, the second merit list is likely to come on July 1. If after this, seats are left or some students remain, then they will get an opportunity to apply through physical counseling. The college administration also told that there are many students who could not fill the form till the last date for some reason. The information of such students has been preserved by the college administration, so that if later, they can also be included in the process of admission.
