He said that now employees can generate UAN directly using Aadhaar face authentication technology (FAT) using UMANG mobile app. Any employer can use the UMANG app to generate UAN using Aadhaar Face Authentication Technology (FAT) for any new employee. To generate UAN, an employee has to open the UMANG app and follow the UAN and follow the activation steps through face authentication. The UAN will be generated after Aadhaar based verification and the link in the Aadhaar database will be sent to the mobile number via SMS.
After generating the UAN, employees can download the UAN card from the UMANG app or a member portal. Users using 100 percent validation and face authentication of Aadhaar have advantage. The minister further stated that the members who already have UAN, but have not active yet, can now easily activate their UAN through the UMANG app. Using face authentication is more secure than methods such as biometric authentication, domographic or OTP based authentication.
It will also easier other methods of self -service option for Secure Verification Members, which will relieve the employer near the future service or from going to the regional office (regional office). The minister said that in the coming days, EPFO pensioners will also promote digital life certificate through life proof by using face authentication technology by partnering with India’s volunteers to provide service at their home.
