Delhi University has started the application process for UG course in 2025-26 academic year. Keeping in mind the challenges of last year, DU has revised the tie-breaking rules. Now class 10 results of students will also be kept as an option. Whatever subjects you have taken in class 10, they will be used to remove the average and break the tie.

Du Tie Breker Policy: Why was a new rule of tie braking in DU?

Delhi University’s Du Dean of Admissions, Huneet Gandhi told the media that till last year had to work with RAW data. In some cases, seats had to be allotted on the basis of the alphabet sequence of names. This year, more rational and merit-based approach is being given preference. That is why the admission team of the university also decided to include the class 10th result in the tie breaking policy. In the new rule, the alphabetical order option has been replaced by class 10 marks.

In the best three subjects of class 12, a high percentage candidate was given priority.

If the tie was not broken using the first rule, then the total points were considered in the best four and five subjects of class 12.

If he did not work, then the officers used to consider age.

If the tie was still not broken, then the students were given admission on the basis of the alphabet sequence of their names.

Delhi University Admission: What is the CSAS process at Delhi University?

There are 71,624 seats in 79 UG courses of 69 colleges of Delhi University. Its most popular BA program now offers 186 subject combinations. These days, millions of students CUET UG Results 2025 are waiting for the 12th pass. Along with this, DU has also started the CSAS process. It has started to invite the first phase i.e. application. In the second phase, applicants fill their programs and college priorities. This CUET will start after the UG result is declared.

The admission process at Delhi University started on 17 June 2025 and classes are expected to start from 1 August 2025.
