Delhi school: Delhi Education Directorate has fixed the minimum age limit of admission in schools 6 years. This rule will be applicable from academic session 2026-27.

Delhi school: The Directorate of Education of Delhi Government (DOE) has taken a big decision for all schools in the capital. From academic session 2026-27, now the minimum age of the child will be 6 years for admission in class 1. This change is being made in accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the Right to Education Act (RTE) 2009.
New age limit for admission in Delhi school
Nursery at the age of 3 (Bal Vatika/Pre-School 1)
UKG (Bal Vatika/Pre-School 3) at the age of 5)
National Education Policy 2020 has changed the old 10+2 system to 5+3+3+4 structure. Under this, education is divided into four stages – Foundational, Preparatory, Middle and Secondary Stage.
The purpose of this initiative is to make the beginning of children’s education more systematic and developmental.
