Cowpea Seeds Turn Into Plants in Space isro big success

The Indian space agency ISRO has created another history in space. ISRO had sprouted the seeds of cowpea in space, from which leaves have now come out. ISRO has reported that the first leaves have come out after germination in the seeds of lobia sent to space on the ‘PSLV-C60 POEM-4 platform’. ISRO has said that this space is a mile stone in the based plant research. ISRO has said that one of its recent experiments included growing cowpea seeds in a closed environment.According to ISRO, Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) has developed the ‘Compact Research Module for Orbital Plant Studies’ (CROPS) (CROPS). It is an automatic platform, designed to develop and maintain the life of plants in the subtle gravitational environment of space.

ISRO reported that this system monitored various parameters including oxygen and carbon dioxide levels, relative humidity, temperature and soil moisture, as well as photographs to monitor the growth of plants.
