Climate Change 26 Lakh Years Old Aral Sea Disapped in 50 Years Says Nasa Report

This ocean was spread over 68 thousand square kilometers. It was the fourth largest water body in the world which was surrounded by land from all sides. But it dried completely by 2010! NDTV’s Report It is said that it started drying up in 1960 when the rivers filling the water in it were twisted for irrigation in Soviet.

Nasa ki Earth observatories Has presented a complete report related to Aral Sagar. According to which the Soviet Union diverted two major rivers of the region- head Dariya, and Amu Dariya in 1960 for irrigation to provide water to cotton fields and other crops built in the desert. After which the Aral Sagar started drying up.

Encyclopaedia Britannica According to, the Aral Sagar was formed about 26 million years ago when the two rivers changed their way to their flow. When the ocean was in its entire size, it was spread over 435 kilometers from north to south direction, and spread over 290 kilometers from east to west. As soon as the irrigation project came, the ocean started drying up and all its water flew as steam. Kazakhstan also made a final effort to save this old water source. The country built a dam from its north to the south. But the entire ocean could not be filled with water. Now water is visible in its small part.
